Be smart This Diwali !

Yes, Diwali ( and winter ) is just around the corner, and that means this is the time of rangoli, fireworks, pollutions, junk foods and break out.We love Diwali, but we love beautiful skin more. Here are some quick tips on how to celebrate Diwali and still have perfect skin going into the festive moods.

  • Wash off ! Whatever you do, no matter how tired you are when you come in after your Diwali party or gathering, be sure to wash off your makeup! make up can clog pores to cause acne breakouts or to give you a dull look to your skin in the days that follow. Use a good skin cleanser, may be a soft soap or face wash .Also a good quality eye make up remover is a must have this season. You can use Neutrogena or simple almond/olive oil.
  • Be Product Wise!  You’re going to add mounds of mascara, eye liner, foundation, lip color, pigments to get your festive look. Check the products you buy and be careful to read the fine lines- ingredients, allergic responses and contraindications. Bottom-line, looking great for one night isn’t worth it if you end up damaging your skin for months afterwards.
  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! It will certainly be likely that you will not be eating your normal diet around these days. It will be even more likely that you will be eating and drinking all kinds of things that aren’t on the list of “the ideal healthy diet for beautiful skin from the inside out.” Make sure you get enough water and also limit your sweet intake .
  • Moisturize Before Applying Makeup! Not only will a good moisturizer help to work against some of the bad effects of makeup ( and also dirt and pollution), it will also mean that your makeup stays on your face better and has a more finished look. Also before crawling into bed, be sure to moisturize your skin again so you wake up refreshed and replenished. Try a moisturizer with Vitamin E for maximum nourishment of your skin.
  • Exfoliate After Removing Makeup! If your regular skin care routine doesn’t include an exfoliating treatment of some kind, make sure you use one on and after Diwali night. You’ll not only make sure that the last traces of molecules of dirt and smoke are gone, it’ll remove dead skin cells that were damaged by the makeup, too. If you want to make exfoliating a real treat, try St Ives apricot scrub. You can also go natural with besan and milk mask.

Wish you all a happy and safe Diwali !!
Enjoy :-) :-)
