Ingredients :
Long Grain Basmati Rice
One medium onion sliced vertically
Cinnamon (dalchini)
Cardamom (Elaichi)
Cloves

Bay leaves
A pinch of turmeric powder
A handful cashew nut
1litre water
Corn oil
salt to taste
A pinch of sugar
A pinch of turmeric powder
A handful cashew nut

Corn oil
salt to taste
A pinch of sugar
- Clean & wash rice and then soak in a bowl.
- Heat oil and fry onions till golden brown and remove.
- Then fry whole spices and add rice.
- Throw a pinch of turmeric powder and saute for few mins.
- Add water and mix well. Water and rice ratio should be 2:1.
- Add a pinch of sugar and salt as per your test.
- Cook in high flame for few mins.
- Then minimize the flame and cover the pan until rice get tender.
- Garnish Kashmiri Pulao with fried onions & cashew nuts.
- Serve hot with your favorite chicken or paneer dishes :-)

Ayantika, I am a pulao fan ! So, thanks for sharing the recipe. I love the texture and the color of your pulao. Mouthwatering photographs too! Why did I see these photographs right now ? Today, I have prepared daal-bhaat and bhindi fry and now I have to be satisfied with ONLY that:-)
