Heading says it all - Wine - Food and Freinds - a deadly combo !! Isn't it ? So, when Akshay of Four Seasons Wine's called me for a Blogger's Meet at Kolkata, I knew that I can't miss it !!
The Invitation E-Card!... Gorgeous !!
Anupriya, Sayanatni, Shayoni, Uparna, Debiparna, Swarnali and I- we were invited in this event. Four Seasons is basically the baby of India's largest and most respected beverage alcohol company - United Spirits Limited of UB group. It get produced and bottled in Four Seasons winery near Baramati (don't know where it is ?Google please).
After some chit chatting, the Brand Ambassador of Four Seasons Wines, Ms Shamita Singha arrived at The Oasis. She is such a lively lady !She taught us how to enjoy wine...the 4S mantra.... SEE ... SWIRL ... SMELL ... SIP.Wine is the most natural of all alcoholic drinks. You should keep the wine in your mouth for sometime and roll it around, because it helps you to get accustomed with the taste. You can store your favorite drink max for three days.White wine with white meat and Red wine with red meat....these combo are not alive anymore...it was a myth. You can have salty snacks or tandoori dishes with the wine...even your favorite dessert, too....but it should be a balanced combination.

Four Seasons has a great portfolio comprises of Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Blush, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Off-dry white wine Chenin Blanc was the first wine what we tested along with Veg Wantons and Herb Infused Chicken Reshmi Kebab.I am still in love with the taste of that kebab and that wine. For the main course, The Oasis presented us with Grilled Fish with Lemon Butter Sauce and Masala Au Gratin. This time, we paired these with Sommelier India Wine Competition 2009 Gold winner Vignier. It had a intense floral aroma where as previous one had hint of citrus smell. After some time, they served the champion of the day...the Blush...what a color it had...a perfect salmon pink color with crushed ststrawberry and rose aroma. Tempting chocolate brownie with ice cream was there for dessert. And, we coupled it with Best Indian Red Wine'10 award winner Barrique Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. This red wine was of deep purple red color with a smell of vanilla and mint. I am always a White Wine lover...but this time...Rose Wine won my heart !! :-)
We enjoyed this event to the core - SORRY - I should call this meet as a gala lunch - with food , wine and good company ! #LifeIsGood
Four Seasons also gifted all of us a bottle of Shiraz, dry red wine.It has very dark ruby red color with aroma of crushed raspberry. I can't tolerate the smell and taste of raspberry....so I gifted it to my dad !! (wink).
